Image Interlude

Hello friends! Today is a short break from poetry. 🙂 During the month of April, a friend and I challenged each other to do art daily. I gave myself the constraints of “watercolour + children book style illustrations”. I wanted to stretch myself in the medium of watercolour and stretch the way my brain sees and processes information. What I love about children book illustrations is how they look past the obvious in everyday life and ask you to see something else — which is why I saw a leaf person when my neighbour was raking her front lawn, why the sky could conceivably rain colour, why the dishes are quarantined in their shelf apartments, and how a whale came to blow bubbles. I wanted to share a few of these with you — not because I’m a visual artist, but because messing in another art form can teach you to lower your inhibitions, loosen your grip on your imagination, and learn things you never knew you knew. 🙂 What are you creating?

Love these… thought you would enjoy, Emma and Katie!
Do some water color for a kids’ story illustration. If you do, please send it on..
One of my younger friends did these…
She was on the mission field but is now in Canada.
