“Spring Wishes”

As the rain vibrantly displays green moss
up the necks of bare maples
and the long, uncombed hair of willows
colours yellow-green with unfurling tinies —

As the grass returns so quick after the snow
to carpet mud with green that is thick,
I wish —
……..a tailor could measure
……..the bare, brown patches
……..of our wintry lives and cut
……..a swath of life wide enough
……..to cloak it all.
