This painting is inspired by the prayer of St. Brendan the Navigator, a prayer for those going beyond what is familiar. He prayed, “Do I assume that the storms will be stronger than me?” The prayer and the painting inspired this newsletter I wrote on the paradox of swallowing what we love.
