A Lily’s Dream

A Lily’s Dream

I woke up and started walking.
On the horizon hope
combed her hair.
The sky shrunk to fill a cup
and I drank.

I wrote the poem first and it inspired the painting; white footprints walking up a blue hill (reminiscent of the time between sleep and waking) and turning into a tree, and then a flock of birds. Earlier this year I wrote a newsletter about snakes & resurrection, also inspired by this painting. You can read that here.

This painting is 8.5 x 11 inches on canvas paper and is for sale! Normally up for $90, it’s now just $50 (shipping not included). Email me at abrokentulipinbox@gmail.com if you’re interested!
