“Look What I Can Do!”

Two children
One wide parking lot

the boy in a blue helmet holding
the handlebar of a girl’s trike, all pink.

Two adults
One straight low curb

the woman pressed up against
the man, cold drawing them together.

The woman laughs when the girl cries, “look what I can do!”

Stay safe, friends, wherever you are in the world! As the pandemic spreads around the globe, I find myself responding in poetry. Maybe because poetry picks up all the pieces of life and loves the beauty of each….and as we linger with one small piece of life we see a much bigger picture in our peripherals. Maybe because one piece a day is sometimes all we can handle.
